Earth day contest thisnext 2007

ThisNext launched a great Earth Day promo that will definitely help the world be a cleaner place. All you have to do is make a green recommendation, and they'll plant 10 trees. Make 10 green recommendations, they'll plant 100 trees. Easy, isn't it?

how to show your stuff on thisnext's blog

ThisNext just did a mini-facelift of their blog to include a Readers' Find section that allows interaction between the site and the blog. By tagging an item on ThisNext's site, your recommendation will magically appear on their Readers' Finds product display. Very cool.

Check out how easy it is to do...

1. Recommend a product that is appropriate for this week's theme (this week is St. Patrick's Day).

2. Tag it with "St. Patrick's Day"

One of the funniest (and best) how-to-be-a-consultant advice I received from my friend H. was "Don't flush the toilet when you're on a conference call." I need to send her this device.

As described to me, this little gadget cancels all the background noise. So the person on the other side can't tell if you're in your car, at the airport, or other places you shouldn't be when on the phone... I placed an order and cannot wait until it gets here! (via roelof)

the lemon tree

One of my favorite things... Dwarf lemon trees. They're super easy to grow and I love the fact they fruit all year round - Indoors or outdoors. The lemon tree is also a great gift, as it is a symbolic gesture for luck and success.

ps. Lunar New Year is February 18, year of the pig.

Literally… A calendar of hot Vatican priests. (You know I’m just cracking up right now.) My Mom would totally dig this and think it’s a good Catholic thing to display. Let’s just say, I know a few friends who will love this as a gift, and they’re not anything like Mom. (Hint, former alter boys…)

I looked down at my groceries, turned back to him, and answered, "You think? I have frozen pizza, ice cream, rootbeer, and Captain Crunch cereal."

I guess he didn't plan on anyone in the Marina district to eat as poorly as I did.
